Egill Ploder is a radio host on the biggest radio station in Iceland, FM957. His show had a competition between hosts who would create the best Christmas song. Egill decided to talk to Ingi Bauer to create the song and later they got a verse from singer Svala. The song won the competition (it was the only song, the others bailed).
